Leaving military interested in fireman job need help?

my husband has been in the marines for almost 4 year and he has decided to NOT reenlist this fall. He said he'd like a career in firefighting, but he doesn't know where to start to find anything out about getting into it. We have two kids, so I'm not fond of him waiting until he gets out to start looking into his next job. Anyone know what he can do about getting a job with the fire department in the Orlando, Florida area? Any input on this would be nice. I don't think he knows what he's getting into and I'm scared for him to get out without any information on the subject beforehand
