Will I still be employable if I get a non-AHIMA accredited Medical Coding program?
While I am not a coder, I do work in healthcare, and given the rather large number of coders out there, I would say that if the employer had the chance to hire an accredited grad v non; they would pick the accredited one every time. Accreditation and certificates and such are important in the medical field due to the tremendous responsibility & liabilities. Docs and hospitals recognize this. If all the want adds require graduation from an accredited program, that is all they will hire. This program will probably be a waste.
